Where the Earth Breathes

One-of-a-Kind Labradorite Sterling Silver Statement Pendant

There are places in nature where the world seems to breathe—where the stillness of a moonlit forest meets the mysterious depths of water, and an unseen energy connects everything in between.

Where the Earth Breathes is an original, one-of-a-kind work of wearable art by jewelry artist Christine Keller, inspired by the extraordinary natural beauty of two individually selected labradorite gemstones.

The upper stone reveals a captivating green flash, with dark, delicate lines reminiscent of trees standing quietly in a forest beneath the moonlight. Below it, a second labradorite comes alive with brilliant shades of blue, suggesting deep, mysterious waters and the movement of light beneath their surface.

Together, the gemstones tell a story of two distinct yet connected worlds.

But the connection between them is more than visual.

Christine has designed and hand-fabricated the sterling silver setting with flowing, deeply textured lines that represent the invisible energy moving through the natural world. These sculptural details are an intentional part of the composition, bringing the forest and water together in a single artistic expression.

The substantial silver setting follows the natural character of the gemstones rather than confining them to a conventional design. Openings on the reverse reveal another view of each stone and allow light to reach the gemstones. Even the silver removed to create these openings is preserved for use in future jewelry creations.

Measuring an impressive 4½ inches in length, this pendant has a commanding presence while retaining the organic beauty and movement of its design. It hangs from a 24-inch adjustable silver chain.

Where the Earth Breathes is a celebration of the living earth, the elements that shape it, and the unseen connections that bind them together.

Created as a singular work of collectible artist jewelry, this pendant is for someone who sees jewelry not simply as an accessory, but as a personal expression of art, nature, and meaning.

Gemstone Symbolism & Meaning

Labradorite has long been treasured for its remarkable flashes of shifting color, a natural optical phenomenon known as labradorescence.

In gemstone traditions, labradorite is associated with transformation, intuition, protection, and spiritual awareness. Its changing colors are often seen as symbolic of the mysteries and energies that exist beyond what we ordinarily perceive.

In Where the Earth Breathes, the green and blue labradorites also represent the connection between the elements of nature—the quiet strength of the forest, the movement of water, and the energy that flows between them.

These symbolic associations reflect traditional beliefs and artistic interpretation rather than scientifically established healing effects.

A Note from the Artist

"When I looked into these two labradorites, I saw a moonlit forest in the green stone and deep water in the blue. I wanted the silver to represent the energy that flows between them—the invisible connection that exists throughout nature.

That is how Where the Earth Breathes came to life."
