Mountain Farm — One-of-a-Kind Copper Story Pendant

Nestled among towering pine trees, a little mountain homestead rests quietly beneath the evening sky.

A rustic cabin sits overlooking the rolling hills, with a stone fire pit waiting for friends and family to gather as the stars begin to appear. Nearby, a small chicken coop is home to its feathered residents, scratching happily at the earth.

The scent of pine fills the mountain air, and as evening settles over the landscape, a beautiful Labradorite moon rises above the homestead.

It's a scene of simple pleasures, peaceful evenings, and the timeless beauty of mountain living.

Mountain Farm is one of my original copper story pendants, inspired by the little moments and places that make life feel connected to the earth.

To create this piece, I individually hand-cut four separate layers of copper, carefully arranging and soldering them together to bring depth and dimension to the landscape. The Labradorite moon adds a lovely finishing touch, bringing another element of nature into the scene.

The pendant hangs from a handcrafted 20-inch gemstone chain featuring Lapis Lazuli, Web Agate, Onyx, Hematite, and Tiger Eye. I chose these stones to complement the earthy character of the copper and the mountain landscape.

Created one piece at a time in my Appalachian studio, Mountain Farm is an original Christine Keller design—a miniature landscape in metal, made for someone who appreciates the beauty of nature, the stories of rural life, and the individuality of handcrafted art jewelry.

Wellness & Symbolism

Copper has long been appreciated for its warm, earthy appearance and its traditional symbolic associations with energy, connection, and balance.

Labradorite is often called a stone of transformation in gemstone folklore. Its beautiful flashes of color have inspired stories connecting it to the Northern Lights, and it is traditionally associated with imagination, intuition, and embracing change.

The other gemstones in the chain bring their own traditional symbolism:
