Some pieces begin with a stone. Others begin with an idea.

Into Orbit began with movement.

I created this pendant from three individually handcrafted pieces of sterling silver, bringing them together in layers so that the forms seem to sweep around one another—almost like celestial bodies caught in their own orbit.

At the center of that movement is a beautiful Monarch Opal, alive with shifting color. Greens emerge brilliantly from the stone, joined by flashes of violet and other colors that appear and disappear as the pendant moves through the light. No photograph can quite capture it; this is a stone meant to move with you.

On the opposite side, I set a small green Onyx, creating another point of color and balance within the asymmetrical design.

The silver itself became part of the story. I gave each section its own rich pattern and texture—circles, spirals and organic markings that suggest planets, pathways and the endless movement found throughout the natural world. Open space between the layers allows light and shadow to become part of the composition as well.

The result is bold without being rigid, contemporary yet unmistakably handcrafted.

Into Orbit is a true one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art, created for someone who doesn't need everything to follow a straight line.

Sometimes the most interesting journey begins when we allow ourselves to move a little outside the expected path.
