One-of-a-Kind Green Maligano Jasper & Sterling Silver Art Necklace

Sometimes I find a stone that seems to have already begun the design for me.
That was the case with High Mountain Forest.
Within this unusual Green Maligano Jasper, I saw a distant landscape—soft green sky, dark ridges and the suggestion of trees rising along the horizon. Rather than simply placing a silver frame around that scene, I wanted the landscape within the stone to continue beyond it.
Above the Jasper, I created a mountain forest directly in sterling silver. Mountains rise beneath a textured sky while evergreens stretch across the horizon, extending the world I saw within the stone into the metal surrounding it.
A small Turquoise moon rests above the mountains, adding a quiet touch of color to the silver landscape.
The circular stone is surrounded by a hand-textured sterling silver frame, while a large open silver loop completes the upper portion of the pendant and gives the entire composition a strong architectural shape.
The result is almost like looking through one landscape into another—the ancient patterns of the earth below and my interpretation of them in silver above.
High Mountain Forest was created once and will never be duplicated.
