Canyon Rain

There are colors that seem to belong together because we've seen them together in nature.

Stormy gray skies. Sun-warmed earth. Rust-colored canyon walls. And that extraordinary light that appears just before—or just after—the rain.

That's what I see in these earrings, and it's how they became Canyon Rain.

The slender Red Marcasite drops carry an incredible natural mixture of rusty amber, cream, soft gray-blue and earthy markings. Look closely and each stone is different, yet together they create a beautifully balanced pair.

Above them, I added hand-textured copper, giving the earrings another layer of pattern and warmth. I especially love the contrast—the darker copper above those lighter, almost landscape-like stones below.

At approximately 2¼ inches long, Canyon Rain has enough movement and presence to be noticed, while the narrow ½-inch width keeps the earrings graceful and easy to wear.

These are for the woman who doesn't need her jewelry to match everything perfectly.

She'd rather have something interesting.

Something earthy.

Something another woman might notice and ask about.

And because nature created the markings within these stones, there won't be another pair of Canyon Rain exactly like this one.
