One-of-a-Kind Jasper Pendant by Christine Keller

Some stones catch my attention because of their color. Others because of their rarity. And then there are stones like this one—stones that make me stop simply because I want to know their story.

Written in Stone began with an unusual natural Jasper whose exact variety I don't know. But its name was never what interested me.

It was the markings.

Across its warm cream and earthy surface are dark, wandering lines that look almost like ancient symbols—marks left behind by another time, a language created by the earth itself.

I wanted the finished piece to preserve that feeling of something discovered rather than manufactured.

I handcrafted the sterling silver setting to follow the stone and added a polished Black Onyx accent below it, creating a strong visual punctuation beneath the Jasper.

But for this piece, a simple silver chain didn't feel complete.

So I created a gemstone chain specifically for Written in Stone, combining Tiger Eye, Amber, Onyx, Hematite, Jasper and silver. Each was chosen to echo something already present in the pendant—the deep blacks, warm browns, golden tones and earthy neutrals—allowing the design to continue beyond the pendant and around the wearer.

That's an important part of how I create. I don't begin with a formula and fit a stone into it. I allow the individual stone to influence what comes next.

Written in Stone is the result of that conversation between material and artist—an original work built around a natural image that existed long before it ever reached my hands.

Created individually by Christine Keller, Written in Stone is an original Chrizart Creations work. The natural markings within this Jasper cannot be duplicated, and this design will not be recreated. When it finds its collector, it becomes part of the continuing archive of Christine Keller's one-of-a-kind work.
