Dream State — Enamel on Copper Brooch

 Dream State lives in that quiet space between sleeping and waking — the moment when everything is still, soft, and peaceful. The colors settle into one another like a calm breath, creating a piece that feels soothing just to look at. It carries a gentle energy, the kind you want to keep close.

Silvered light drifts through the enamel, shaped by fire and chance. Every enamel firing reveals patterns I can guide but never fully control, and that unpredictability is what gives the piece its soul. No two kiln firings are ever the same — this brooch exists only once.

Built entirely by hand at my bench, the metal was cut, shaped, and finished step by step before the enamel was layered and fired repeatedly to create depth and movement. Some enamel pieces pass through the kiln five times, others twenty. The process is slow, intentional, and deeply personal.

The back is finished in textured copper, a metal long associated with grounding and warmth. Many people are drawn to copper for the way it feels alive against the skin — a natural material that connects us back to the Earth.
