Earth in Motion — Banded Agate Earrings

The Earth rarely creates in straight lines.

It folds, shifts, layers and changes—and sometimes it leaves a record of that movement behind in stone.

That is what drew me to the beautiful Banded Agate in these one-of-a-kind earrings. Each stone carries flowing ribbons of cream, brown, gray and warm golden tones, creating tiny landscapes that seem to move every time you look at them.

I named them Earth in Motion.

I kept the silverwork organic and understated so the natural patterns of the stones could remain the focus. Each agate is individually set in sterling silver against a hand-finished silver backdrop, creating a pair that belongs together without being perfectly identical.

That's one of my favorite things about working with natural stones. Nature doesn't make matching copies—and I don't believe handmade jewelry needs to either.

Finished with my handcrafted sterling silver earwires, these earrings have enough presence to make a statement while remaining wonderfully wearable.

Banded Agate

Agate has been treasured since ancient times and is traditionally associated with grounding, stability, balance and inner strength.

In crystal and metaphysical traditions, the layers within Banded Agate are thought to symbolize harmony—different energies existing together while remaining beautifully connected. It is often considered a calming and centering stone, making its symbolism especially appropriate during periods of change.

I particularly love that meaning for these earrings. Their bands are a visible reminder that life is created in layers. Every season, experience and change becomes another part of who we are.

Silver

Silver has been valued throughout history for its beauty, reflectivity and enduring nature. In traditional and metaphysical practices, it is associated with intuition, protection, emotional balance and lunar energy. Its cool luminosity pairs beautifully with the earthy warmth of the agate.
